UNLOCKING THE POTENTIAL

Human potential is one of the greatest forces driving the pace of society and its achievements. Everywhere we hear, see and read about the great strides in many fields by human contributions. EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION / TEAM DYNAMICS WORKSHOP

Programme Overview

Most people in their lifetime will have opportunities for leadership in voluntary, assumed, or employed roles. To be aware of the dynamics is paramount to better leadership practice. At the end of the experiential learning workshop for the students, they will be able to realise and identify the essence of effective student leadership and their roles/responsibilities as student leaders.
The 3-hour workshop will be conducted by 3 anchor facilitators each taking care of one experiential ‘station’ covering the respective topics namely: Personal Traits & Styles (PTS), Effective Communication (EC), and Team Dynamics (TD). Each station will consist of at least 2 activities to illustrate the topic covered. Each Group will consist of no more than 20 students.

THE ACTS PROFILER – WORKSHOP

Do we have difficulty understanding our friends at times? Do we find our parents or teachers a nag and too protective of our well-being? Are we even aware of our own characteristics or do we try to enforce our ideas on others without understanding them? What about our own temperaments? In short, do we really ‘know’ ourselves and people ‘know’ us?

In Tandem is proud to present The Behavioural Profiler – A.C.T.S Analysis Workshop.

How The Behavioural Profiler – A.C.T.S Analysis came about? 300 B.C. Hippocarates developed theory of inherited temperament traits
149 A.D. Roman Physiologist, Galen, proposed theory of personalities
1866 A.D. Genes were discovered
1953 A.D. Structure of DNA discovered
1999 A.D. First human chromosome sequenced
2003 A.D. The Behavioural Profiler – A.C.T.S Analysis was developed in Singapore

The A.C.T.S Analysis (which stands for Active, Considerate, Tough-minded and Systematic) allows us to be in a better position to ‘transact’ with others. If we are the ‘Tough-minded’ type and we are working with others who are the ‘Considerate’ type, it would be better us to express ourselves in a more concerned manner as compared to giving them orders and instructions. On the other hand, if we belong to the ‘Active’ type and our friends are the ‘Systematic’ type, it would be better for us to be detailed when relating an event than to ‘beat around the bush’ when interacting with them.

In short, The A.C.T.S Analysis allows us to understand ourselves better and at the end of the day, be in a better position to work and communicate with people around us.

Programme Outline (Brief)

PASSION FOR CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION WORKSHOP

All organisations operate in a typical real-world full of problems, crises, time pressures for action and decision-making which never fit into a pre-established and orderly sequence implied by theoretical concepts and principles.
